Prenuvo Arrives In NYC, Offering Early Detection Of Critical Health Conditions Through Safe and Noninvasive 60-Minute Whole-Body Scans

April 27, 2023

With a goal toward proactive healthcare through early disease detection, the company’s comprehensive body scans have alerted ~1 in 20 patients to potentially life-saving diagnoses

NEW YORK – (April 27, 2023) Prenuvo, the company pioneering proactive whole-body imaging for the early detection of cancer and other diseases, today announced the opening of their first New York City clinic. With this expansion, New Yorkers will now have access to the fastest, safest, non-invasive whole-body screening on the market so that they can take control of their health and seek proactive solutions.

Prenuvo’s cutting-edge whole-body scans are based on 10+ years of clinical work while curating the biggest data set of whole-body MRI scans in the world. Unlike conventional MRIs, which take hours and often involve contrast injections, Prenuvo scans for 500+ conditions, including most solid tumors which can be detected as early as stage 1, in addition to aneurysms, cysts, and more – all without radiation, in under an hour.

“We are committed to shifting the healthcare paradigm from reactive to proactive,” says Andrew Lacy, Founder and CEO of Prenuvo. “Waiting to address health issues once they have already taken hold leads to delayed diagnoses, costly medical treatments, and diminished quality of life for patients. Prenuvo gives people the opportunity to make lifestyle modifications before potential health concerns become dire, and ultimately lead happier, healthier lives.”

The company has already performed tens of thousands of whole-body scans, alerting one in 20 patients to potentially life-saving diagnoses. With $70M in Series A funding led by Felicis Ventures and including prominent figures in healthcare, including 23andMe’s Anne Wojcicki, Prenuvo’s expansion to New York City marks a significant milestone as the company scales from 6 to 12+ locations by the end of 2023.

“Our goal has been to enable insights and early detection for a patient’s health and to help their doctor efficiently navigate through complex whole body functional and morphologic MRI imaging. Prenuvo’s custom hardware and patient-centric technology, designed by radiology specialist physicians, delivers personalized clinically relevant detailed images that can be shared with any health care provider,” said Dr. Raj Attariwala, Founding Radiologist and double board certified radiologist and nuclear medicine physician who also holds a PhD in engineering.

“My curiosity about Prenuvo saved my life,” said Ryan Crownholm, a Prenuvo patient. “I had renal cell carcinoma. This type of cancer can go undetected for years until it spreads beyond the kidney and presents symptoms, at which point the situation becomes almost incurable and very deadly.” Prenuvo’s imaging accuracy caught Crownholm’s cancer – leaving just enough time for the tumor to be safely removed. Today, he is cancer free.

Andrew Lacy and Dr. Raj Attariwala founded Prenuvo after losing loved ones to late-stage cancer that could have been prevented if caught sooner. Lacy, a serial entrepreneur (founder of Tapulous, the first iPhone app company, acquired by Disney), and Attariwala, a renowned radiologist and biomedical engineering PhD, set out to make Prenuvo’s comprehensive screenings more accessible so that anyone can take control of their health before suffering the pain and loss that they did.

Prenuvo’s noninvasive whole-body scans are currently available in New York, Redwood City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Boca Raton, Vancouver, and a partner location in Minneapolis.

Demand in NYC has proven strong, with appointments already booked out one month after opening. For more information on Prenuvo’s technology and to book a scan appointment, visit prenuvo.com.
